Mona Vijaykar
The M in Mona Vijaykar's name stands for Mom, Maid, Mrs, Mobility Manager, Medical Director and Marketing Executive for the Vijaykar family. Born into the illustrious Sonalker family and on the same day as the Rani of Jhansi, her future as an activist was inevitable. Mona qualified as a professional graphic designer after studying at NID and Sir JJ Institute of Applied Arts. She was inspired by her two grown sons to write and illustrate the first Indian American children's books, The Vee Family. She has written and directed several musicals for children under the banner of TriColor Stars. With her latest tribute, India in Classrooms, a teacher assistance program, (www.indiainclassrooms.org),her life is dedicated to building universal connection among children and to help raise the self esteem of all Indosauruses, those unique creatures who originate in India, but can be spotted all across the globe.
