This is the home stretch! The finish line is finally in sight - but as you get closer and closer to the "due date", you discover that it is really a moving target. The "due date" is just an approximation and you realize that there is no guarantee that the baby will oblige to arbitrary deadlines provided by doctors. So you just have to hurry up and WAIT!
In this episode we share with you some things to do during this trying period to prepare for the upcoming ordeal of "labor and delivery" and we provide a list of essentials to buy for your baby as well as things we do not recommend buying. For most moms-to-be, this is a period of introspection and mental preparation. Towards the end of the show we provide a Indian home remedy for Braxton Hicks contraction. This simple 2 minute recipe is provided by Tara's mother-in-law in Tamil. Please write to us at podmommas@gmail.com to provide feedback on the show.

The recipe was provided by Tara's mother-in-law on the show.
Since she spoke in Tamil, some of you didn't follow and asked for the recipe, so here it is:
Ingredients:
Jeera(cumin seeds) - 2 Tsp
Water 1 cup
Method:
Dry roast the Jeera in a pan for a few minutes ( i.e.without adding oil).
Add the water and let it boil until the volume of water goes down to half cup.
Let it cool to as warm a temperature as you can tolerate. Filter and drink.
If they were indeed false-labor pains, then it will subside from drinking this concoction.
Note: It is a perfectly harmless recipe. Cumin seeds are a part of the everyday Indian diet
and are often used as a digestive aid.
