Remembering Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer (Part 1)
T. N. Krishnan and Tanjavur Kittappa Iyer reminisce about the Pitamaha
Duration 40m 3s

An informal conversation between Sri T. N. Krishnan and Sri Kittappa Iyer, two very distinguished associates of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, recalling their experiences with the great master.
Sri T. N. Krishnan, the world renowned Violin maestro, was a protege of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and had accompanied him on the violin in numerous katcheris.
And Sri Kittappa Iyer is an eminent connoisseur of Carnatic music, and a successful businessman who used to run the famous "Ananda Lodge" hotel and restaurant in Thanjavur, many years ago.
In a most spontaneous and heartwarming discussion, the two friends recollect their fond memories of Semmangudi and pay tribute, along the way, to many of the other past luminaries of Carnatic music.
October 31, 2005 marks the second anniversary of the passing of Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer and we present this program as an homage to the great Pitamaha of Carnatic music.
