Hi SK,
Good to know that you've also fallen a victim to this hobby of podcasting (intha maaya valaila neeyum vizhunthitiya???)... nice start anyway... keep it going...
I think you can increase the speed of your tone a little bit so that the pace picks up a little...as your momma wud say... wake up, brush your teeth and then talk...
i agree that mr.youngking is a genius and has given us some Mellifluous Melodies.. oh wow... what gr8 stuff he has given us to feel love... but ithu konjam over... u cant say that the use of technology has removed to soul in music by the newcomers in the industry...you can not blame the technology and the new directors... AR has also given us some excellent stuff with what you call as "technology"... jus listen to the sax bits in duet.. its not only the sax its also technology with sax... or the flutes in "vaseegara"... or the... ipadi sollite pogalam... one more thing on the experimentation stuff that you were talking about... may the number of movies AR wud have done is less but not the experimentation...
if you plan to do a sequel to this, i think "As you like it" of Mr.Youngking is worth a mention...
anyway...nice one to start with..

A good one, except for the slight disturbance in your recording. I agree that when it comes to melody and all that, Ilaiyaraja is king. His melodies are very very great. I love them the first time I listen to them. But his music is a bit mundane, according to me.
Bringing out emotions in music or associating soul with music is something that is subjective, I think. If you look at ARR, his movies like Muthu, Bombay, Iruvar and more, he has done what IR has done. Even other music directors have done this in some of their films. And different people feel differently. Sometimes, it depends on picturization like you say here.
Anyway, the podcast has come well. You could have avoided the repetitions. Sometimes, I also do the same mistake. You could have included more of his famous songs, instead of his BGMs. I like one particular song of his very much, the tune is in my mind, but I just don't know what's the starting line. So I couldn't find the movie title or song title. But oh, anyway, a good one for a start:)
